The Future of Water Starts With Action

At the Las Vegas Summit, ultra-distance runner and global water advocate Mina Guli sparked important conversations about the future of the Colorado River after reaching 1,300 miles on Day 54 of her journey along the river’s entire length.

Speakers highlighted how shared understanding and collective action can help build a more resilient Colorado River. As Colby Pellegrino, Deputy General Manager of Resources at the Southern Nevada Water Authority, noted, Mina’s journey inspires us to take on the “hard days and hard decisions for water.”

Ansell Sims, President of Grundfos Americas in Brookshire, emphasized an important message: solutions already exist to use less water, lose less water, and reuse more water.

Beyond the summit, the activation brought this message into the city, helping make the Colorado River’s story visible and highlighting the need to invest in solutions that protect this vital resource while supporting economic growth across the American West.
