Unveiling of Brookshire's Commemorative Monument

On July 4, 2026, Brookshire proudly joined communities across the nation in celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary with the unveiling of Brookshire’s commemorative monument.

Mayor Robert Richards welcomed those in attendance and expressed his appreciation to Maderitos for providing complimentary refreshments. He then introduced Pastor Jim Slater of New Life beginnings Church, who shared inspiring remarks and offered a prayer.

Then Alderwoman Eileen Mcdade and Alderwoman Marylin Vaughn also addressed the audience, sharing remarks in honor of this historic occasion.

Bruqayyah Wright concluded the ceremony by reading a letter from united states Senator Ted Cruz, commemorating this historic milestone.
